CHOPPING, DICING, CHUNKING. Unless otherwise specified, chopping finely should measure approximately 1/16-1/8 inch non-uniform pieces. Chopping should measure: 1/4 inch non-uniform pieces. Dicing should measure: 1/4-1/2 inch uniform squares. And, chunking should measure: 3/4-1 inch uniform squares. No matter which you do, however, don’t be afraid to be neat.
