
TVP CRUMBLE
Looking for a simple easy to make beef-style crumble that can also pass as a pork or turkey crumble? TVP is ready to impress! Lots of uses, so Use AWAY!
Makes 2 cups
1 c. water
1/2 c. TVP (Textured Vegetable Protein) I used Bob’s Red Mill brand
1- Combine water and TVP in saucepan. Heat to boiling, remove from heat and fluff with fork.
Add, stirring after each addition.
2 T. Balsamic vinegar
2 T. Worcestershire sauce
1 T. liquid smoke
1/2 t. salt
1 t. granulated sugar
1 t. garlic powder
1 t. onion powder
1/2 t. ground rosemary
fresh grind black pepper to taste
2- Let set for about an hour to marinate, then pack in covered container and refrigerate till ready to use.
Uses:
3- Add to pan-fried onions and peppers for tacos and burritos.
4- Use in spaghetti sauce in place of hamburg.
5- Use in Shepherds Pie.
6- Sprinkle on top of pizza before baking.
7- Add to a white sauce with peas and onion or spinach.
8- Use in lasagna or Moussaka.
9- Replaces the meat in stuffed cabbage and peppers.
